The spacious kitchen and dining area is fully equipped for relaxed family meals and social gatherings, centred around a large rustic dining table overlooking the terrace and tennis court. The heart of the home is the spacious kitchen and dining area, where large windows frame views of the terrace and surrounding countryside, creating a bright and welcoming space for gathering together. Fully equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer, you'll have everything needed for a comfortable stay. We also provide complimentary tea and coffee, along with salt and pepper, so feel free to help yourself. The large rustic dining table is perfect for family meals, while the cosy lounge area offers comfortable seating, smart entertainment facilities and free WiFi, so you can stream all your favourite shows through platforms like Netflix or Prime (just log in with your own account), making it an ideal space to relax and unwind after a day exploring the Sussex countryside.

- On the ground floor, you'll find a modern shower room complete with a shower, toilet and wash basin.
- Upstairs, 1st Floor, the Victorian-style family bathroom features a bath with a hand-held shower attachment, WC and wash basin.

The surrounding gardens and woodland provide peaceful walks and beautiful countryside views, while tennis enthusiasts can arrange access to the nearby tennis court with the owner.
- Please note there is a small pond within the grounds which is unfenced, so children should be supervised at all times.
- Perfect for dog-friendly holidays surrounded by nature and guests who love outdoor walking, cycling, and outdoor enthusiasts.
OTHER THINGS TO NOTE:
- Although the owners live across the garden, Medleys Barn enjoys its own private entrance, terrace and outdoor space, allowing guests to relax in complete privacy.
- There are also several excellent country pubs nearby, perfect for a leisurely lunch or evening meal after a day exploring.
- Guests are welcome to use the shared tennis court during their stay - simply bring your own racquets and tennis balls.
- If you like playing cards, there’s a bridge table and cards at the barn.
- Pottery lessons can be arranged in advance with the owner at the pottery studio, just a short walk from the barn
- There’s another tiny holiday let across the way, but they won’t bother you as a completely separate building. The two places can be rented together to sleep 8 in total.

The picturesque town of Lewes is within easy reach, offering independent shops, historic landmarks and its famous castle, while Glyndebourne Opera House attracts visitors from around the world. The Bluebell Railway provides a wonderful nostalgic journey through the Sussex countryside, and Brighton, Eastbourne and Royal Tunbridge Wells are all perfect for day trips.

A truly stunning location, Peaceful and comfortable cottage in an interesting location. Well-equipped and spacious. Lovely and warm in the cold and damp weather.

Our Guest Promise

We want you to arrive at a spotless home. If anything has been missed with the cleaning, please let us know straight away, and we will put it right as a priority. If we are unable to resolve it on the same business day, we will offer to move you to another property or refund you for the affected time!
Check-In

We’ll send your check-in instructions via email and SMS at 3 pm on your arrival day for check-in from 4 pm, once your damage deposit/waiver has been paid.
Damage Deposit

We work closely with our property owners to protect their homes and take damage deposits for all bookings. The day before check-in (or on the same day, if applicable), you’ll receive a 3D Secure link to select your preferred damage deposit option. The full deposit is simply pre-authorised on your card and released within 7 days of check-out if no breakages or damages are reported. Guests who prefer not to do a fully refundable damage deposit have the option of a one-off non-refundable damage waiver at a much lower cost.
Smoking

To keep our properties fresh and clean for all guests, smoking of any kind, leaving traces behind suggesting smoking of any kind, or vaping (including e-cigarettes), is not allowed indoors. Please smoke on the street or patio area, if available.
Noise

To help keep things peaceful for our neighbours, we kindly ask that noise be kept to a minimum between 10 pm and 8 am. We want you to have a great time. A little consideration goes a long way to making sure everyone can enjoy their evenings (and get a good night’s sleep!)

Not all properties can host hen, stag, or similar group celebrations. If you’re planning one, just drop us a message, and we’ll happily guide you to a property that can accommodate your group.

This Property is pet-friendly. An additional £95 after pet stay, hypoallergenic cleaning fee applies per stay. Please notify us in advance what type of pet you are travelling with, so arrangements can be made.

A maximum of 1 dog is allowed unless prior permission has been granted.

Dogs are not permitted on beds or furniture to keep the home clean for everyone.

Only housetrained dogs are accepted (no puppies).

Dogs must not be left unattended in the house.

Check-out is by 11 am. Unauthorised late departures may incur a £50 per hour fee.

The lead guest must be 21 or over. We cannot accept bookings where the majority of guests are under this age. If unsure, please contact us before booking please.
A Quick Note on Deposits and Property Care

If any of the above guidelines aren’t followed, we may need to make deductions from your deposit to cover additional cleaning or damages. We hope that’s never necessary!

My Getaways is committed to our owners so their properties are protected during bookings, therefore a damages deposit is required before check-in. You can opt to pay a non-refundable My Cover/Accidental Damage Waiver of £30.00, which covers you for up to £300.00 of accidental damage protection, however, deliberate damage is not covered.
Alternatively, you can opt to pre-authorise your credit/debit card for the full damages deposit of £300.00, this pre-authorisation will expire after 7 days If no deductions are to be made for damages. You will be sent a link to pay for My Cover accidental damages waiver fee OR pre-authorise your credit card for the full damages deposit of £300.00 on the day before check-in. Once this payment or pre-authorisation has been made we will release check-in instructions on the day of arrival.
