The Oriental - Historic Holiday Apartments

Discover The Oriental – Stylish Brighton Holiday Apartments to Rent

The Oriental collection is a selection of nine private holiday apartments set within a historic former hotel building, hidden away on a quiet street just moments from Brighton seafront. Each room offers stylish and contemporary accommodation, thoughtfully refreshed to blend historic character with simple modern comforts.

Each holiday rental room features a private space with everything you need for a relaxed and independent stay. When booked together, the seven rooms can accommodate up to 16 guests, allowing everyone to stay in the same building while enjoying their own private space.

Guests can enjoy easy access to Brighton’s seafront, the i360, and the city’s independent shops. These historic short term rental properties in Brighton are a great choice for couples, families, and groups of friends looking to explore the city for a similar cost to a hotel room.

Location

The Oriental is a stone’s throw from the seafront, between the Bandstand and the West Pier, and less than a ten-minute walk into the centre of town where Brighton’s independent shops are located.

Getting Here

From Brighton Rail Station, a taxi rank is located directly in front of the main station concourse. Alternatively, take the Number 6 bus from directly outside the station – alight at the Waitrose stop, walk forward, take the first left down Montpelier Road, then left again onto Sillwood Road. Oriental Place is on the right, with The Oriental approximately halfway down on the left.

Parking

On-street parking on Oriental Place is restricted to a two-hour maximum stay. We recommend the following options:

  • Regency Secure Parking, 1 Regency Mews, Brighton BN1 2HF – a five-minute walk. Please check closing times.
  • Regency Square Council Car Park, Brighton BN1 2FG (24 hours) – just around the corner.
  • Norton Road Council Car Park, Norton Road, Hove, BN3 3BE (24 hours) – approximately a 20-minute walk.
  • Alternatively, visit yourparkingspace.co.uk to find and book hourly, daily, or monthly parking spaces online.

Additional car parking information is available on the Brighton & Hove Council website.

A Brighton Stay with Character

The Oriental building has been part of Brighton’s cultural life for decades. In the 1980s, the venue famously housed the Brighton Belle nightclub, an early platform for local DJs including Norman Cook, later known worldwide as Fatboy Slim. In the early 1990s, it became the Beacon Royal Hotel - one of Brighton’s most celebrated LGBTQ+ venues and a welcoming space that contributed to the city’s reputation for openness and creativity.

Today, the building begins a new chapter, offering stylish studio rooms for visitors who want to stay somewhere with a story.

The Apartments

The apartments feature comfortable beds, soft lighting and a thoughtful layout that blends practicality with style. A walk-in en-suite shower provides a refreshing start or end to the day, while an additional basin within the bedroom adds extra convenience.

Guests can enjoy a Smart TV, complimentary Wi-Fi and more, with each individual apartment listing below laying out what exactly you can expect in each.

Perfect for couples or solo travellers looking for a comfortable city stay with a little Brighton charm.

To note before booking - these holiday apartment listings are for a private room with a bed and en-suite bathroom, rather than a multi-bedroom apartment. You’ll have tea and coffee-making facilities, along with a mini fridge stocked with a few complimentary refreshments ready for your arrival.  The room is very secure, with a lockable door from both the inside and outside.
