PROPERTY LAYOUT

The annexe is completely self-contained and includes a hallway, kitchen diner, sitting room, double bedroom and bathroom. The sitting room has patio doors leading onto the balcony, which can also be accessed via the side passage. The brand-new sitting room provides a comfortable space to relax, with a Smart TV and free Wi-Fi. Guests can log into their own Netflix, Prime or other streaming accounts using their personal details. The kitchen is well equipped for self-catering, with an air fryer, electric hob, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, along with essential cookware, glassware, crockery and cutlery. Complimentary tea and coffee, plus salt and pepper, are provided.

BEDROOM

• The bedroom has a comfortable double bed, bedside table and built-in wardrobes, providing plenty of storage for your stay.
• Plenty of fresh bed linen is provided for all beds.

BATHROOM

• The bathroom features a walk-in shower, sink, toilet and mirror, with convenient Jack and Jill doors providing access from the hallway and bedroom.
• We provide plenty of bath towels, hand towels and bath mats.

BALCONY & OUTDOORS

The balcony is accessed from the sitting room through the patio doors or via the side passage and has seating for two. It overlooks the landscaped grounds and provides a pleasant spot to sit outside. The surrounding gardens feature winding lawns, mature trees and colourful borders.

PARKING

Parking is provided on the large shared driveway.

Piltdown offers a peaceful base for exploring East Sussex, with Uckfield nearby for shops, cafés and everyday amenities. The Piltdown Man provides a traditional country pub option close to the property, while Piltdown Pond and the surrounding area offer opportunities for local walks and wildlife spotting.

For days out, explore the gardens at Sheffield Park and Garden, discover the landscapes of Ashdown Forest or take a steam train journey with the Bluebell Railway. The area also provides easy access to a range of countryside attractions, making Chapel Cottage a convenient base for exploring this part of Sussex.

A Peaceful Countryside Stay

We had a lovely stay at Chapel Cottage. The annexe was comfortable, modern and completely self-contained, with everything we needed for a relaxing break. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the balcony and looking out across the gardens and golf course. The location was ideal for exploring the surrounding Sussex countryside, with Uckfield and local attractions within easy reach. The parking was really convenient too. A lovely choice for a quiet getaway, and we would happily stay again.

Our Guest Promise

• We want you to arrive at a spotless home. If anything has been missed with the cleaning, please let us know straight away, and we will put it right as a priority. If we are unable to resolve it on the same business day, we will offer to move you to another property or refund you for the affected time!

Check-In

• We’ll send your check-in instructions via email and SMS at 3 pm on your arrival day for check-in from 4 pm, once your damage deposit/waiver has been paid.

Damage Deposit

• We work closely with our property owners to protect their homes and take damage deposits for all bookings. The day before check-in (or on the same day, if applicable), you’ll receive a 3D Secure link to select your preferred damage deposit option. The full deposit is simply pre-authorised on your card and released within 7 days of check-out if no breakages or damages are reported. Guests who prefer not to do a fully refundable damage deposit have the option of a one-off non-refundable damage waiver at a much lower cost.

Smoking

• To keep our properties fresh and clean for all guests, smoking of any kind, leaving traces behind suggesting smoking of any kind, or vaping (including e-cigarettes), is not allowed indoors. Please smoke on the street or patio area, if available.

Noise

• To help keep things peaceful for our neighbours, we kindly ask that noise be kept to a minimum between 10 pm and 8 am. We want you to have a great time. A little consideration goes a long way to making sure everyone can enjoy their evenings (and get a good night’s sleep!)

• Not all properties can host hen, stag, or similar group celebrations. If you’re planning one, just drop us a message, and we’ll happily guide you to a property that can accommodate your group.

• Please note that call-outs due to excessive noise or parties may incur a fee.

Pets

• This property is not pet-friendly.

Check-Out

• Check-out is by 11 am. Unauthorised late departures may incur a £50 per hour fee.

• Before You Leave and as a consideration to future guests, please:

• Wash up the used dishes.

• Bag rubbish and use the correct recycling bins.

• Return keys to the key safe

• Switch off the lights.

• Close all windows.

• Turn down the heating.

• These steps help us prepare for the next guests and save energy; every little bit counts.

Age Policy

• The lead guest must be 21 or over. We cannot accept bookings where the majority of guests are under this age. If unsure, please contact us before booking please.

A Quick Note on Deposits and Property Care

• If any of the above guidelines aren’t followed, we may need to make deductions from your deposit to cover additional cleaning or damages. We hope that’s never necessary!
