Guests have their own entrance, parking and private accommodation, with a balcony overlooking the landscaped gardens and Piltdown Golf Club.

PROPERTY LAYOUT

The annexe is completely self-contained and includes a hallway, kitchen diner, large sitting room, double bedroom and bathroom. Patio doors from the sitting room lead onto the balcony, with additional access via the side passage.

The large sitting room is brand new and provides a comfortable space to relax, with patio doors opening onto the balcony and views across the garden and golf course. A Smart TV is provided for relaxing evenings in, offering a comfortable spot to relax, enjoy a drink, or stream your favourite shows through the free Wi-Fi provided by logging in to your own Netflix or Prime account (log in with your own details). The kitchen is well equipped for a comfortable self-catering stay, with an electric hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and essential cookware, glassware, crockery and cutlery. Complimentary tea and coffee, along with salt and pepper, are provided, so please help yourself.

BEDROOM

• The bedroom has a comfortable double bed, bedside table and built-in wardrobes, providing plenty of storage for your stay.
• Plenty of fresh bed linen is provided for all beds.

BATHROOM

• The bathroom features a walk-in shower, sink, toilet and mirror, with convenient Jack and Jill doors providing access from the hallway and bedroom.
• We provide plenty of bath towels, hand towels and bath mats.

BALCONY & OUTDOORS

Step outside onto the private-use balcony, accessed through the sitting room patio doors or via the side passage. With seating for two and views across the landscaped gardens and Piltdown Golf Club, it is a lovely place to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The wider grounds feature winding lawns, mature trees and colourful borders.

Parking is provided on the large shared driveway.

Chapel Cottage is a great base for enjoying the Sussex countryside, with Uckfield close by for shops, cafés and everyday amenities. Golfers can enjoy a round at Piltdown Golf Club, while The Piltdown Man offers a traditional country pub nearby. Piltdown Pond and the surrounding countryside are ideal for walks and enjoying the local wildlife.

For days out, visit Sheffield Park and Garden, explore the wider Ashdown Forest or take a steam train journey with the Bluebell Railway. With countryside, gardens, walking routes and local attractions all within easy reach, there is plenty to explore while still having a peaceful place to return to.

Our Guest Promise

• We want you to arrive at a spotless home. If anything has been missed with the cleaning, please let us know straight away, and we will put it right as a priority. If we are unable to resolve it on the same business day, we will offer to move you to another property or refund you for the affected time!

Check-In

• We’ll send your check-in instructions via email and SMS at 3 pm on your arrival day for check-in from 4 pm, once your damage deposit/waiver has been paid.

Damage Deposit

• We work closely with our property owners to protect their homes and take damage deposits for all bookings. The day before check-in (or on the same day, if applicable), you’ll receive a 3D Secure link to select your preferred damage deposit option. The full deposit is simply pre-authorised on your card and released within 7 days of check-out if no breakages or damages are reported. Guests who prefer not to do a fully refundable damage deposit have the option of a one-off non-refundable damage waiver at a much lower cost.

Smoking

• To keep our properties fresh and clean for all guests, smoking of any kind, leaving traces behind suggesting smoking of any kind, or vaping (including e-cigarettes), is not allowed indoors. Please smoke on the street or patio area, if available.

Noise

• To help keep things peaceful for our neighbours, we kindly ask that noise be kept to a minimum between 10 pm and 8 am. We want you to have a great time. A little consideration goes a long way to making sure everyone can enjoy their evenings (and get a good night’s sleep!)

• Not all properties can host hen, stag, or similar group celebrations. If you’re planning one, just drop us a message, and we’ll happily guide you to a property that can accommodate your group.

• Please note that call-outs due to excessive noise or parties may incur a fee.

Pets

• This property is not pet-friendly.

Check-Out

• Check-out is by 11 am. Unauthorised late departures may incur a £50 per hour fee.

• Before You Leave and as a consideration to future guests, please:

• Wash up the used dishes.

• Bag rubbish and use the correct recycling bins.

• Return keys to the key safe

• Switch off the lights.

• Close all windows.

• Turn down the heating.

• These steps help us prepare for the next guests and save energy; every little bit counts.

Age Policy

• The lead guest must be 21 or over. We cannot accept bookings where the majority of guests are under this age. If unsure, please contact us before booking please.

A Quick Note on Deposits and Property Care

• If any of the above guidelines aren’t followed, we may need to make deductions from your deposit to cover additional cleaning or damages. We hope that’s never necessary!
