Parking in Brighton and Hove

We would always recommend using public transport, either trains, taxi's or buses to get to Brighton & Hove.

The central area of the City Centre, is easily accessible on foot or by using the efficient and cheap taxis and buses. However, if you do wish to park then do read on for some more information on this:

Free parking in Brighton

You'll find some streets with free parking but you then face a bit of a walk to the main attractions. That's fine if you're fairly fit and don't mind a 30-minute walk into central Brighton or the seafront. And you could waste time driving around looking for a parking space - especially in the busy summer period. That means spending time in your car instead of enjoying the best that Brighton has to offer.

One of the easiest ways is to make sure your Brighton accommodation has free parking.

There's a park and ride at Withdean Sports Complex where parking is free and you just pay for a bus into Brighton. However, you can't park overnight.

If you're visiting Brighton Marina there is free parking for around 1,500 cars but it is only for visitors to the marina and for up to four hours.

Paid parking in Brighton

For peace of mind, there are plenty of paid-for car parks such as The Lanes, Regency Square - the nearest car park for the i360, Trafalgar Street and London Road in central Brighton, and Black Rock car park by the seafront, although this one is currently closed. These aren't cheap but worth paying for the convenience of having a car in Brighton.

Also, you can prepay to guarantee a place in the two NCP car parks. NCP Russell Road car park is handy for Brighton Pier and the beach. The Brighton Theatre car park is within easy walking distance of the Theatre Royal, Brighton Dome, and the Royal Pavilion.
